The Teen Vogue Experience

On January 13, I spent the day at the Teen Vogue offices at Conde Nast (World Trade Center). I was invited with a group of girls who are taking/completed the Parsons x Teen Vogue online course! Here's a look at the offices and my experience:

The first part of the day was a panel discussion and Q&A with some of the Teen Vogue editors and directors, including Elaine Welteroth (Editor of Teen Vogue), Erin Hover (Art Director), Sarah Brody (Fashion Market Editor), Kirby Marzec (Accessories Editor), Terron Moore (Social Media Director), and Melanie Mignucci (Editorial Assistant). Every one of the speakers was completely genuine, informative, and so nice. The panel was moderated by Samantha Fox (Social Media Coordinator), who immediately made the environment fun and welcoming, asked the questions everyone was thinking.

The panel was followed by lunch, then we were divided into three groups. My group went to a Conde Nast photo studio first, where we got our makeup touched up and our pictures taken. I waited a little longer to release this post because I was waiting for the pictures, which I wanted to include!! Both the makeup artist and photographer were really inviting and helped everyone feel comfortable.

Our next stop was a meeting with Amy Levin, founder of College Fashionista. She, like everyone else, was so sweet and gave us a lot of interesting career insights and recommendations. Next was a trip to the fashion closet, which was really interesting. The clothes in the closet are loaned from designers (save for a few staple pieces) and switch out quickly and regularly (about every week or so). They're a mix of high and low ends and are used for online and print shoots. When I was there, the closet was filled with some of the coolest t-shirts and sneakers I've ever seen.

The last stop of the day before meeting back in the conference room for closing remarks was the Conde Nast Cafeteria. I would kill to eat lunch there every day- it's so modern and beautiful. Fun fact: they also have the best chai latte I have ever tasted.

I'm so thankful to Teen Vogue and everyone who made the experience so amazing. I also met so many passionate, creative, driven girls who have since filled my feed with inspiration. Lovely to meet every one of them!

Hopefully I'll have an ootd up soon! Working on a lot of new things for the next issue of Sayer. More to come! xx
